To anyone who ever said that Rose returning would ruin the emotional intensity of "Doomsday," I have just one word to say:

BULLSHIT.

[eta: I must say though that Donna's appearance now leads to a very quick upswing in mood. Love her so damn much.

::suddenly gets sucked into watching "The Runaway Bride" at 4:30am::]

tv: doctor who, dw: rose tyler, dw: doctor/rose

Thank you!

Although this complaint has never made sense to me -- reunions 'ruin' the tragic intensity of believing that you've lost your loved one? In what universe is that true? I sometimes wonder if the people who say these things have ever read a classic love story.

I've never understood it either. Just because we, the audience, now know that they reunite, the emotional intensity between the characters at that exact moment doesn't lessen, 'cause guess what? They, the characters, obviously don't know about this future reunion. All they know is that they're never going to see each other again, because it would be impossible. The only thing that matters is what the characters are feeling and thinking at that moment and absolutely nothing else.
