wouldn't it be better to tip after tax? that's what i do, unless there is some sort of special or something that jacks it up.

the servers at plucker's here on campus get dicked over after basketball games when we score 80 points, because all these kids come in with five free wings coupons, eat, & leave. bastards >:O

Yeah, we'd get more money if you tipped after tax, so go ahead and give us the money (lol), but I'm just giving the standard.

Sometimes the problem with tipping after tax is that you're not taking into account the fact that the bill's cheaper from discounts and coupons, like the free wings thing you were talking about, or drink specials, etc etc. Your bill could be $0, and 15% of 0 is 0, but before those coupons/discounts were put on there, your total was a lot higher.
