its not so much wow. Its when people have a character flaw that makes them totally unable to function IRL and they delve into it headfirst, leaving all of their other commitments hanging. Not all wow players are socially inept, but plenty of them are.

I know.
This was just a joke post.

But I think its so dumb when people direct their irrational anger to the actual game and don't blame the person who allows themself to be consumed by the game.
Its not the game, its the person.

I've never seen it said better. There are so many WoW players, that you can't make blanket statements at the drop of a hat.

It's a known fact that even Red Sox pitcher Curtis Schilling even plays WoW.

People that are irresponsible tend to be socially inept to begin with, and if WoW didn't exist, they'd turn to ANY other MMO and get lost. Perhaps an anti-MMO/Halo/Madden community would be more proficient.

That'd depend on how you manage the rest of the time in your week... and if I'm dating you at the moment. :)

so it really depends on the person who play not on the game
i know many girls who have husbands and children and they play together and the all are happy with that.
so if u don't like your boyfriend/girlfriend playing wow just stop dating - u have too different interests

The reason people "hate" WoW is because it is so easy for otherwise-good-seeming people to "fall into it", revealing the addictive tendencies that lead to the outrageous behavior that is the cause of the heartbreak stories you read about in this community.

Sometimes "stop dating" isn't a simple answer... after all, there is frequently quite a lot invested in the relationship before it stops being a two-way street because your significant other would rather WoW than IRL. And many have a hard time understanding that it is not the game itself that is the problem, but the character faults that it reveals... which could be a problem in any relationship with or without the game, but is greatly exacerbated by the game.

The game is designed to exploit these tendencies... it is a prison for the minds of those who are naturally inclined to fall into it, because unlike in real life, in WoW you can always feel like you are doing something worthwhile with your time, always right at the edge of accomplishing something that you find relevant. So ( ... )

it's not that I hate wow..
just that my best friend plays it 24/7 and due to that, she doesn't have any time for anything else..

now I know because she showed me a picture of them.. she kinda went too far..

But don't ya know that people should spend all of their time OFF the computer, and that if you play WoW you're an addict?

OMGWTF Murlocs?

Oh wait, you play that game. You automatically lost your social life, etc, etc, seek help, etc.
