Without waving my feminist credentials (*pauses for laughter from the cheap seats*), the best argument I ever heard for trying to rectify the disproportionate "fame" that has been bestowed upon fashion models, from Twiggy to Kate Moss, involved putting bags on their heads.
The point being that it's the clothes which are important, not the nonentities wearing 'em. We shouldn't even know their names.
