I skipped Body of Lies at the theatre but I'm looking forward to seeing it on TV in the coming months. Since you mention Spy Game, thinking about it, it's quite rare that Ridley Scott makes two movies that are that similar.
To be honest, I wasn't entirely sure if the article you link to would automatically be entirely favourable for Hunter Prey because I thought that teaser looked a bit "childish". Of course, given the director's background it's something to look forward to though the teaser so far didn't grab me (even when keeping in mind there's only a very limited budget). One of the guys who were responsible for that foolish April's Fool joke about the Mimic DVD claims he has seen more of the movie and he very much liked what he has seen. Though I've learned to take those things with a grain of salt since they're always incredibly excited for everything that looks even remotely passable. But I did take note that it's something to keep an eye on. Let's see how the full trailer turns out.
Sorry, I was a victim of my own arch in-referencing there - Ridley's brother Tony directed Spy Game, hence my reference to Body of Lies being its "older brother". It's definitely worth a look, though.
As for Hunter Prey, it seems - on the face of it - to be another calling card that Sandy's leaving for the larger studios to pick up...or not. Since the current climate is unlikely to foster risk as a factor worth banking on, he may be out of luck again. Visually, he still seems to be digesting his influences - three parts Proyas, to one part Burton. Or something like that. ;o)
Given the fact that I have the Spy Game DVD here somewhere I should've noticed myself. Ah well, it all stays in the family. :)
I don't know about the larger studios but when I look at what kind of movies some of the smaller studios sometimes distribute I sure hope someone will provide him with at least a decent sized audience.
