What I do instead is use a “typewriter” font. What I print out... looks like keys have been pounding the platen. It's a nice thing to see. (I've got a decent 'typeball' font, too, and man, that brings back some memories...)

Y'know, I thought I got that wrong: it's a Silver Reed 500. I've got a Smith Corona, too (beige plastic, smells of 1974 on a hot summer's day), but I think the shift-lock's gone on that.
Now, then...freezer. Oh, yes. Helps to keep the ink fresh, and stops the ribbon completely drying out.
