A trip to the store today, to buy such vital essentials as lime jello. I do hope I can manage to dissect the grapefruit without significant damage to my hands, and am wondering if maybe I should have gotten some gloves as well

Are you eating alone? I'd totally invite you over, if it weren't for that whole All of the West Coast in the Way thing.

... I also just realized today that I could easily cook a pretty good Thanksgiving for myself if I ever needed/wanted to. And that there are worse fates than being trapped alone in house with a pie.

I am eating alone, yes, and it's a tremendous relief after the last few years of Thanksgiving social trauma. I'm making a Cornish Game Hen, since it's obviously the appropriate thing.
