I just got a box in the mail from my dad. Mostly it was full of 18-gauge copper, for use in printmaking, but he had also included a disc with an astonishing piece of my past: a short movie called Path to Challenge, made for Duquesne Light in 1986. I love that it is immediately apparent that the round-faced blond child is you just from the 'Do not give me this patronizing bullshit - I know EXACTLY how much energy the average American uses' tone.

Just curious, do the copper plates already have a resist on the back to keep the acid from etching both sides at once? Or will you have to enamel it yourself?

It's just bare naked copper. So far, we've been told that we should either cover the backs of the plates with contact paper (making sure to seal the edges thoroughly), or paint on a layer of vile black goop. The goop is something similar to hard ground, but with less turpentine/thinner, so it dries quickly.
