So the new the new iPod speakers work exceptionally well. I went to Target, Circuit City, Best Buy, Toys R Us, back to Circuit City, back to Target, then to Wal-Mart where I ended up buying an RCA model. So Last.FM kept me amused while I cleared out the bedroom, re-arranged stuff, and generally acquired more space, minus the air conditioner still ( Read more... )

I agree with everything you said about Tideland. I still don't know what I thought of it, and I saw it months ago. I don't even remember what it was about, but I remember it was disturbing to me in the way that it was one of those movies that made me feel so alone, so disturbingly alone and distant. I don't know how to ever explain those movies that do that to me, but I never end up wanting to watch them again.

Oi, too much antibiotics aren't good for you! But I'm not one to speak, I usually take Advil every day, and been taking penecillin almost consistently for the past month and a half (through a prescription that I have to take, though). :S

Oh I know. This is the first time I've taken any kind of antibiotics in a while. These have been leftover for quite some time, I'm sure, heh.

Tideland did kind of make you feel lonely but really (for me) I just felt for the little girl.
She's stuck in time in the middle of nowhere and no one knows what's going on or what she's going through. I wanted to send a Social Service and TSS worker for her now. Kid's totally messed up, damn. Dickens inadvertently saves her when he captures the "Monster Shark" ... I think one of the summaries of the movie says he "opens up a hole to reality" and damn if that wasn't right. It's literally like "KaBoom, Reality!" I wanna say this sort of felt like a Gilliam version of a cross between Pan's Labyrinth and Alice in Wonderland - with the disturbing factors toned way down because the target audience was to be young kids (since the movie is told from the eyes of the girl.)

It is disturbing but I don't think it's anything you can't handle. I'll check out the trailer you might have seen before Shortbus to see how it was edited.
