[ALL ACTION, ALL THE TIME.
Once, this curse was old, familiar, but no less nettlesome to Ishida Uryuu. He had gone and returned without those memories - but that did not make him naive. Practicality demanded a search of the network each day. He had had the opening shift at the crafts shop, but happily the devices were portable

[oh, and end it shall (the initial 'chase' part of it anyway), when she swings her sword fast enough to make it whistle and slams into that shield hard]

WHY ARE YOU SO LOUD? How have your--
[Vocal chords survived, but never mind that (or the fact that she really did start it) -- her blade has struck. It isn't a shield; the Thunderwitch noted that, it's only a bow. It takes an enormous effort to keep the spirits concentrated, to prevent real damage, though he expects he might bruise where the spirit was forced back.
He jumps back post deflection, bow held as the makeshift shield]
Would you stop and leave me alone, already?!

[so yeah, giving you a preeetty feral grin rite nao, though her expression's got a lot of smirk and sneer in it too]
Why would I do that now that you've finally stopped runnin'?
[comin' at you again~]

How irritating. It would be irresponsible to continue to use his bow like this, and yet, to run again would renew the cycle. To fire, then, and mean to hit? Not yet--]
Tch-
[He does choose to move, seemingly run, but only to dodge if possible, otherwise risk the bow-]
Are you incapable of sense? I have no interest in fighting you! Whatever you are, it is none of my business-- we have no fight, and I'd thank you to keep your distance while this city has cursed mistletoe all over it!

[makes another (unsuccessful lol) attack attempt, then growls mostly to herself, but as Hiyori doesn't really do 'quiet'--]
You're even more yellow than that dumbass Ichigo, an' I'm not even fightin' you fer real. Tch, I should just kill you now and be done with it...

well, Ishida Uryuu is not Kurosaki Ichigo, and as such, is not so easily riled. He certainly isn't fool enough to react on hot-headed instinct to a few words]
And you honestly believe I've been aiming to hit you? Unlike you, obviously, I am not a barbarian, and as such am disinclined to fight without a reason. Nor, however, am I inclined to simply stand around and be beaten on for your own sordid, sadistic entertainment!

[...And while she knows she shouldn't, that she'd be blowing their cover and that Shinji would be pissed if he knew about it, the temptation to mask up and just smash this guy already has almost reached the point where no reason is valid enough to keep her from doing it. In any case, if she killed him, it wouldn't matter what he'd seen...]
[Still, she's not out-and-out angry enough to do that just yet.]
I just told ya that I'm gonna kill you. That ain't reason enough to fight?
[hasn't stopped basically throwing herself at him, trying to land any sort of blow (be it with her sword, her feet, or even a bare fist) her irritation and her determination to do so only increasing each time he evades her]

[Dryly, as his aim strains to keep the bow up and together, and broken by his movements to sidestep or block,]
that if you really wanted to kill me, you'd have tried much harder by now.
Reply
Yeah? Maybe I just think it'd be over too damn fast if I did try any harder.
Reply
...But I guess that really doesn't matter any more, huh?
Reply
Evidently. I take this to mean you're getting serious.

Just a little bit.
[She gives a low, vicious snicker as she says it, but doesn't turn her mask to cover her face--it really would be over too fast then.]
