Very nice. I wish the show had done a little more with Charlotte, I liked her. This is really good. :)

WOW!

This is so fantastic -- thank you so much for taking the time to write such an awesome prompt-fulfillment! There's so much I love about this -- the setting (because I have a serious soft spot for freighter fics), the way they first meet at the railing and looking up at the stars, the banter about Oxford ... it's all so great!

The characterization is wonderful too, because Dan definitely has that abrasive academic side to him a lot of writers seem to avoid, even he still tries to make amends in his own way after, and that Charlotte is her wonderful, upfront self, asking him out to dinner and everything.

And the ending! I adore it, especially this:
