Urban Anthropology?

You know, when I was a anthro student, I never got a chance to take a class in Urban Anthropology like I always wanted to. I'm curious to know how that area of cultral anthro is structured, what are considered important works, and what good ethnographies fall into that category. Hip-Hop Japan: Rap and the Paths of Cultural Globalization (Ian Condry)

Those are just a few ethnographies that pop into my head -- would be glad to hear more suggestions since I'm currently working on a syllabus for a possible urban anthro class...

Vin Lyon Callo from Western Michigan has done some good work involving homeless and neo-liberal policy, but the name of the ethnography i read escapes me right now.

one of the most important works are those of the chicago school...i don't remember the name of the author. i will look for it.

and good things to read about it?
most of the books can deal with urban culture and also urban tribes.

Currently I'm readin "On the Move: Women in Rural-to-Urban Migration in Contemporary China" which is an anthology of papers/"mini-ethnographies" about... while the name kinds of sums it up. "In Search of Respect" is good.
