Are there any studies showing the risk level associated with a job in comparasion to the superstition level of the people performing that job?

If I were a firefighter, astronaut (see today's entry about my fear of outer space), doctor, soldier, or any other individual who could die/cause the death of someone at any moment during my job, I would probably think a bit more about my luck. I'd be interested to know if that's an overall trend.
