I was reading this entire article, wondering if they would interview a REAL archaeologist. As I got closer to the bottom without seeing anything, I started to get a little irritated. Thank goodness for those two paragraphs. At the bottom, I might add, but there nonetheless
( ... )
"But Josh Bernstein, the chatty, photogenic host of "Digging for the Truth" on the History Channel could be the best thing for archaeology's image since Harrison Ford cocked his hat and starred in "Raiders of the Lost Ark.""
Does Time Team still get shown in the US? That's made archeology a popular thing here in the UK, and without the presenters (Tony Robinson) and experts (various real-life archaeologists from universities around the UK) needing to scramble through ancient tombs or battle dangerous beasties. They just jump carefully in and out of trenches and enthuse a lot about scruffy bits of pot and the odd floor tile or bone tool, and it works.
Now, I've never seen it air over here. I was told about it by a Brit friend and I downloaded a bit, got addicted and grabbed all I could find. Which is quite a bit, actually.
