The more I read, the more I think that we humans had it made in the shade until civilization came along and f****ed everything up.
10,000 years ago, the world was a fertile paradise, where famine was rare, nutrition was good, and most of a human's time was spent relaxing and hanging out with friends and family. Ever since then, a bunch of jerks have been trying to "improve" the place.

Oh I think it's a little more complicated than that. Even for the smallest creatures, life is a constant struggle of finding food and protection, adapting and counter adapting. Paradise is never quite what it seems.
