Interesting article though I take issue with the and much later in Europe, China and Central America as China has discovered some pretty ancient writing, 4,500-year-old inscriptions on pottery from Henan province in central China.

There are a couple of lines I take issue with ("Without writing, there could be no accumulation of knowledge, no historical record, no science" for example), but I just pass on stories I find interesting, and let everyone else make their own judgments :)
