Chinese in America - date-of-birth differences and name changing

I work for a financial institution, and I work in the Operations Center - we're responsible for opening new accounts and performing other maintenance on them (name and address changes, adding features, etc.).  We have a large contingent of Chinese clients, and there are some interesting cultural things I've noticed over the year I've worked here.

Don't know if this helps, Chinese people also go by the luna canlender, and also have a birthday according to this data, which could be the same date for the luna calender but changes in the sun calender we usually go by year by year.

not sure exactly but I know there is a Chinese gymnast where people (the outside gymnastics community) is questioning her birthdate and the Chinese keep changing it.

Ages ago - when I was kid, so I may be completely off the mark - I heard something about some culture in Asia considering their DOB to be the date they were conceived, counting back 9 months or however long the pregnancy was from the date of birth. Is there any truth to that?

Yes, I had Chinese friends in high school who also mentioned that.

A squirrel skull. My ex-roommate found a dead squirrel in the yard, waited until the flesh was gone, then gave it to me as a gift. It's hanging in the rear-view mirror of my car - now with a seagull feather stuck in the back. :)

The luna calender birthday is no longer used anymore. Only some rural ppl talk about it, but it won't be on the official records.
