The Arizona National Guard was called out on that community more than once. The first time they were forcibly relocated to various other communities to try and break them. Hardly a blind eye.

Well it's a newspaper article so likely to be exaggerrated for effect. Also as it's a Britihs paper they are no doubt relying on no one noticing

sorry to disappoint guys

the arizona national guard was last sent in in 1953. that's quite a long time ago

in the past five years the attorney general of utah has had an open policy of not prosecuting polygamy per se, going instead against crimes of underage sex and fraud. he has made clear he will not go after polygamists for that alone

so you see, the brits aren't quite as stupid as you think they are
