It was hot yesterday; today was cooler, but wet, humid and sticky, and I just didn't feel like dealing with Nutmeg's daily fitzy behaviour when going out for a walk (after 9 years, she still hasn't learned not to cross behind me when on the lead

The only incident I've ever had in the parklands was in the notorious stretch between the university and the residential colleges - which tends to attract a lot of muggers (and worse). Unfortunately I straightened up and smiled too soon at his approach. He was a lot faster than I was when it came to running away.
