Some eljay entries are like novels. This is going to be like a collection of short stories, with news buried somewhere in there to keep people paying attention. You have been warned.

I have very little hope of being coherent at 3:50am, so for now I shall simply say: You got to see Bill Bailey?! -envies madly- (He does make a bad habit of that though, from what I can tell in videos I have watched, and I prefer him tempered by Simon and Phill on NMTB to him by himself.)

From the Sesame Street article: "And looking at the wobbly sets and be-stringed puppets, they probably are better suited to sentimental adults than kids raised on Pixar." PAH. Kids don't care about that sort of thing! Kids are not going to pass up a good programme just because the effects are a bit shaky! Kids, in fact, have better taste than most people give them credit for. (I know. I was one once, in fact.)

Inappropriate musical instruments in rock music are fabulous indeed. Solas-the-sort-of-sometimes-traditional-ish-Celtic-band has got a sort-of-rock-album, in which there is an eminently fantastic song involving electric guitars and a drum loop and a low whistle (wooden, from the sound of it).

Seeing bands live is always fascinating, music aside, because I peoplewatch...Oh yes yes yes! See I knew there was a reason we were friends! ;D I particularly love watching people play instruments when you can tell how much they love their music. There's something a little bit magic about that. (Also when they play splendidly weird ( ... )
