Am just back from Milton Keynes, which is full of roundabouts. It is also (much to the suprise of the unenlightened) very lovely, and is also full of Weatherheads, who are very cool peoples. Dad and I went to visit them today apropos of me driving to Milton Keynes and had lunch and went for a walk and played Geomag and generally had a very lovely ( Read more... )

I did have a good seder, as it happens, at home with my family. The food was good, my brothers behaved, and even if I couldn't eat that much because I was so ill, I did get a cake (made entirely out of crushed almonds, sugar, and egg whites) for my birthday. It was very good, even if my dad threw out the shankbone before my youngest brother and I could eat it.

Ours was rather fun. We did the seder in the lounge rather than the dining room, so we had more space, and my cousins cracked me up as usual; the food was delicious, the company good and the arguments really rather lovely. (Neither my cousin or I do Physics - he's a biochemist, and I'm a humanities acolyte - and thus we approached Schroedinger's Cat from very different places, with some very interesting results...)

My mother has made some banana cake which is absolutely delicious even despite the carrot; and the mental image of you and your brother fighting over the shankbone like wolves is making me giggle... :P

Ah, Schroedinger's Cat: truly the gift of God to the acolytes of confusing conversation. Use it well, for it has the power to destroy whole subway cars...

And eating the shankbone is a serious matter. All that lovely marrow...*dreamily* Although my dad foiled us this year - his traditional Ashkenazi soul is horrified by the idea of eating ritual food. Waste of a good bone, if you ask me...

You've been watching Bulletproof Monk again, haven't you? Bad 'Lena.

And you should really meet my mother. Or on second reflection, maybe not.
