Rapt in secret studies

This weekend has been by turns incredibly frustrating, exhausting, enjoyable and invigorating with a side-helping of irritation and a pinch of antagonism. Good to know someone else is still up and essay-writing!

Well actually no, it's probably not good. We should both be in bed, having done our essay earlier. And we should definitely not be on LJ. But it's nice to have company!

I was wondering if there was something in the air that affected people of a certain stripe, because we both seemed to be suffering from the same ailment. Luckily I now have my work-ethic back; this is pretty much the first break I've had all evening, apart from supper...

If by susceptible you mean "caffeine allows me to stay up far past bedtime in order to finish homework that I procrastinated all weekend", I totally know what you mean. (I have to write + memorise a four-minute speech. In French. For TOMORROW. And then do a chem lab and study for a math test.) Though caffeine has the unfortunate side effect of making me feel like my nerves are on fire, which is uncomfortable.

I don't think I've ever written a three-thousand word essay. Usually my teachers impose word limits so that we don't turn things like that in; I think it's just because they're lazy, personally. But one down, one to go, yes? So good luck to you! *nods*

Well, I was working and writing until about then, but even so...

Caffeine doesn't seem to have than many side-effects on me, probably because I use it so little; if anything, it just makes me a little manic in an ever-so-slightly-scary way...

(But then I can get like that without much difficulty sans coffee; all I need is a little adrenaline, and I grin a lot and snap my fingers and lead on impulse and occaisionally sometimes snarl... :P)

Essay-wise, the only other thing I've done that's come close was my ever-conversable-about Gaiman coursework last Christmas, which ran to 2,755 words including the somewhat gargantuan title, although to be fair it was an essay on Neil Gaiman, and ( ... )
