The Indefatigable's Midshipmen return to Portsmouth

Earlier this week nodbear and I were in Portsmouth to do our research seminar at the National Museum of the Royal Navy. We've presented several conference papers already on various aspects of our research but this was our first opportunity to present a broad overview of all nineteen* of the Indefatigable's young gentlemen. Glad it went well. I'm sure it was exciting to have descendants there. I seem to remember The Ship Anson from my brief time in Portsmouth nearly 30 years ago.

Thank you :) I suspect The Ship Anson has been there, pretty much unchanged, as long as the dockyard has!

I am so proud of you both, and so happy for you. How hard you both have worked!

I am sure it was very moving for the families of those long ago men.

I can just imagine Ned making a face, as the old admirals nattered over their lunch and made you late!

Awww thanks hun! We would never have got this far without the support and encouragement of you and everyone else around here :) Sooo hope you'll be able to make it over one day!

And yes I think the Admirals would indeed have made Ned laugh. Plus ça change ....
