Damn, that was hot. The structure works very well to convey their need: first the slow build-up, with poor Horatio barely stopping himself from pacing, and then the explosive release of tension. Reading this, you can feel how attuned they are to each other.

Also, this fic actually reads like part of something bigger: the glimpses that we get of the other characters are tantalising. It's a perfect prequel to the episode. Also, you do have their voices exactly right, it's very impressive. Buckland's speech pattern is perfect.

Oh, BTW, I caught three typos: "hands taught by his sides" should be "taut", and "breath" should be "breathe" in these sentences: "I can’t breath on that damned ship" and "He couldn’t breath and his head was swimming".

Hmmm...I actually find it really hard to write Renown fic. It makes me wibble :} Though for some reason I seem to have no difficulty writing Kingston fic. Maybe I should try my hand at more Renown fic.
