Edward set his mug down while the other shearers were still drinking, and walked towards Linda, rolling up his sleeves to his elbows. She saw flashes of colour on his forearms, which resolved on the right into a bird, a cartoon-style shooting-star, and the edge of what might be some sort of insignia disappearing under his sleeve. On his left arm were cartoon women with impossibly exaggerated curves: one a blonde dressed in army khakis, the other a redhead in a nurse's uniform.
Not a problem. Edward's a fun character to write, and I had an interesting time figuring out his tattoos.
I also wrote a 'Young Edward' snippet on my LJ yesterday, back when he'd just finished at Sandhurst and was preparing to be posted overseas (and get proposed to by Julia, although he didn't know that part).
