Thankyou! And erm yes part 2 is rather long and rather grim, but I really wanted to tell the whole of Archie's story from the Gironde to his arrival at Ferrol.

And if you haven't had quite enough of depressing prison fic by then, the story of what happened to Kennedy at Ferrol is told in Flotsam, All Our Sons and After The Storm.

Ooh.. nice. I'll take a break AFTER those three heart-breakers. Won't spoil the angsty moment i'm already in :)

Thanks for the Trousers.

And, great second part! Poignant to no end. Horatio would be surely much better off as he did. No words would work, but a protective defensive embrace if anything at all. And years of repairing of guilt and "betrayal" ;)

Glad you liked the second part. Have you not expired of teh angst yet?! ;)

Yes. Definitely. When I wrote this, Archie's dialogue seemed to follow it's own arc until it stopped quite suddenly. Almost as if he had got tired of talking. And for Horatio, there really was nothing he could put into words at that point. Sometimes a quiet embrace speaks volumes though.

years of repairing of guilt and "betrayal" ;)
Yeah, I'm not sure Horatio ever really forgives himself. I don't think he really knows how to.
