[ There is a Tusna laying in those flowers, arms cushioning his head as he relaxes in the sun. And for once, there is peace. No people trying to kill him, no bizarre mafia related fiasco, no explosions, no baby hit-men...
Oh god, his life was so weird.
BUT NOT RIGHT NOW.
Right now he was basking in the warm sun, a contented smile on his face, because there is absolutely no way this can be ruined.
It'd be nice if Kyoko-chan were here to share this with him. ]
[ No way it could be ruined, huh? The simulation room is nice and all, but Senji thinks the scenery could really use some work and the people should clear the hell out while he's training.
Senji sweeps his Crow Claw across the field, watches as flowers topple off their stems in a wide circle around him and grins. ]
Ka! Dead center.
[ He takes a step back, feels the back of his heel bump into something squishy and turns around to check what the hell he just almost stepped on. ]
[Snake didn't care much for VR training. It wasn't like the real thing. Not by a long shot. Reality was, by far, stranger than fiction. Unpredictable. No randomized bits of code could simulate a real battlefield.]
...But this wasn't so bad. Everything was very real, even down to the way the breeze played over the sea of golden flowers, all pointing their faces to the sun like sunbathers at the beach.]
...
[Snake inched further along the floor, little by little wiggling along with the path of the breeze. Let his passing through disturb the tops of the sunflowers no more than the wind does.]
[ Dylan had been trying to de-stress a little after the influx of newcomers and constant questions about the Beacon and Nexus systems. When can people go home, what is going on, when will things be fixed -- Dylan is only one person, and as much help as the others give this is still 'his' problem. He is still the one left with the blame. He sighs, and adjusts his glasses as he walks through the sunflowers -- examining a data pad. Perhaps they could save a little power by -- he stumbles suddenly, steadies himself and frowns. A... person? Crawling through the flowers? ]
[Snake's cover has been blown! Pale blue eyes slide over to Dylan from beneath the shadow of his headband, a growl of frustration in his throat.]
...Damn!
[He sits up, head and shoulders emerging from the flowers and looking entirely out of place. Snake blinks, momentarily seeing Otacon there before a second blink proves him wrong.]

[ Denzel's eyes widened at the sight of the flowers. They seemed to stretch on forever in the distance, and he thought instantly of Marlene, and how much she would have loved it. He wondered absently how she was, how Tifa and Cloud were, but shook the thoughts from his mind a moment later. He stepped forward, deeper into the maze of sunflowers and breathed in. He'd never seen anything like it in Midgar.
Marlene still on his mind, he plucked a few of the flowers and stuffed them into his pocket, but not before checking for any troublesome holes that might be present there. Of course, he wasn't aware that they would be gone when the simulation was over.
Sharp pains hit both of his temples in unison, making him flinch. But he wouldn't let it ruin the time he had there, so he carefully lay down between the plants, hoping that resting his head would numb the ache just a bit. ]
But somehow, a few hours worth of exploring this place led him here, and now he couldn't take his eyes off what he was seeing. A field full of sunshine, the complete opposite of what they woke up to every single day - not that the facility's courtyard was all that dreary to look at, but the reality of everything being dead still bore down on them like a heavy weight.
Here, at least, there might have been some comfort in pretending life was beautiful, but that thought alone makes him huff. As if. Enough of that for now, though; back to walking. Maybe admiring this place (it was pretty enough). What caught his eyes next was someone he would have toppled over had he not stopped himself in time.
[ Denzel's eyes snapped open at the unexpected question, and he hurriedly struggled to his feet.
Once standing, he eyed the stranger, and automatically thought he was in some sort of trouble, that he wasn't supposed to be there. His eyes quickly found their way to his shoes, and fixed on them for a few long (and horribly awkward) moments.
i'm sorry i'm so slow. orzsmokesssJune 15 2010, 14:36:31 UTC
[The first thing in his mind: what was he so nervous about? But it wasn't something Matt thought about for too long, fingers shoved in his jeans pocket as he straightens himself out, too. He would have smiled if he was the type, but all the kid really gets was a slight raise of a brow.
Questioning, but not by too much.]
You guess so? [A pause. What else was he supposed to say?] Hm. You'll miss out on the sunflowers if you keep looking down.
[He could already tell this was going to be awkward for a while, but ah, well, it was fine either way.]

[ Calming, peaceful, serene. How long had it been since he could revel in such picturesque locales like this? The battlefield was wracked with blood, violence and war. Such things he was never keen on and yet they had to be done for the sake of the people. Was this too done for such a purpose?
This place vaguely reminded him of the garden at the royal palace. Then that soft breeze, undoubtedly minuscule at best, allowed for a fully tantalizing aroma to drift from the sea of vivid yellow sunflowers surrounding him. He bent down to trail an ungloved hand over one of the many sunflowers, and sure enough it felt just as it was meant to be. Logically it was impossible, paradise, and yet here it was laid out before him. ]
[ Perhaps any other time, the blond man could have enjoyed the faux-scenery to his heart's content. As it was, now was not one of those times.
No sooner than the other bent to touch one of the sunflowers - something shot past, zooming just a few inches above the man's fingers in its downward arc towards the ground. Whatever it was hit the ground with a resounding 'thud' with each bounce among the flowers. And it wasn't until after its third bounce that it stopped, rolling a few inches towards the blond before it halted entirely at the base of one of the many sunflowers.
The strange object revealed itself to be an aging, ragged leathery sphere - the red threads woven onto its once ivory surface just as dark and greying as the rest of the baseball. ] --my bad!!
[ Whoever was responsible for the throw is running towards the blond - lips curling into an apologetic grin. ] I guess I threw it a little too far!!
[ Schneizel's gaze drifted towards the ball and then towards it's presumable owner. While it had almost hit him he had no concerns about such an action. The other seemed sincere in his apology at least. His own hand wrapped around the aged old sphere, a smirk touching his lips as he did so. He rolled the object around in his hand before throwing it back, underhanded, towards its respective owner. ]
i have come to fill your thread with derpiness :'DasariugetsuJune 14 2010, 01:11:24 UTC
[ Takeshi watched the motion of the ball across the man's hand, following it as it was thrown back to him. His own reaction was instant - reflexively - one hand snapping out to catch it against a rough palm with ease. ]
Ah, it can be! But it makes it more fun, right? [ His other hand lifted, moving to easily toss the baseball back and forth between his hands, the warm eyes fixed on the blond. ] Do you like to play? Or watch, maybe?
[ This guy didn't look like the type to play it seriously - but he could have been wrong! ]

You haven't changed much at all, Gintoki. Still lazing about and letting that life of yours fall to waste.

Oi, oi. Got a sore throat, old hag? Told you not to nag at people so much. It's what mothers get to do exclusively, you know.
You get cursed if you try to do what they do.

[ The slightest lift of the corners of his mouth ]
Perhaps I should open them for you.

Oh. Okay then.
The second the attack on the field begins, Tsuna jumps up, startled, only to be caught on someone elses foot and brought right to the ground.
Hi, Crow, have a terrified looking fail boat staring at you with wide eyes. ]
S-sorry! I didn't know anyone was in here! [ In other words, hi you're scary please don't kill me. ]

Maybe Ganta'll show up sometime, too-
Sorry, Tsunafish. He's interested. ]
Get up and make yourself useful, then.
[ The blade shrinks back into his arm, and Senji stares. ]
Let's fight. Yes or yes?

This simulation's harder than it looks.
