Go for it! I don't think you've claimed one before, so go for it now. And tell me what you think of the revisions. It's still an awful muddle, but I moved the tone quite a bit from that first version.

Yay, I read and I'm still the first as far as I can see.

I really liked the revisions. The tone did shift, especially at the end, where Xander turns more serious, but I thought it worked very well. I especially liked how you dealt with Spike, who of course is the thorn in the S7 Buffy/Giles side. It was really just lovely overall.

Okay, what do I want? Hmm. I think I'd like a continuation of the Doctor Who crossover snippet, the one set right after "Pangs," with Ethan and Doctor and Rose and Buffy (and of course Giles). :-D

Ohhh, yes. I could certainly listen to Giles talk all day so I don't blame Buffy (or Xander) at all.

But I wonder, did she read Mallory in Modern or Old English? Because Le Morte de Arthur is different in the latter, but still interesting.

Well, cough, Buffy read the same edition I did when I was a kid, which was The Boy's King Arthur, with illustrations by N. C. Wyeth. So not really Mallory, not directly.

Ha! She had it easy then. I read it in both Modern and Old (because the edition I read had both) just for comparison. I read it in college.

I have a different edition in my own library here. I think my parents still have the very old handed-down-through-many-hands edition with the color plates I read as a kid. I never read it for a class, oddly enough! Entirely for pleasure.

That was...adorable. Sad. Kinda hawt. Sweet. Funny. Really, really beautiful. Wow, thanks.

Wow! I'd say you really hit the nail on the head with this one. Definitely "deeply emotional, weirdly intellectual Giles/Buffy raunch, with hurt/comfort and mild kinkiness, in a new setting." Very cool. And thank you for finishing it. I've needed some good B/G for some time now. Nicely done!

I am pleased to hear it hit the spot. I feared it would be too weird. And I think there's a lot of stuff here that needs followup-- too much going on in one place. Man, when Giles started talking he took off in a direction I hadn't predicted when I planned it out.
