in a dark noisy cellar, on benches

Indeed, I now know where the Watchers go to drink. Drank port, got a little squiffy, mellowed out. Listened to the educated voices at the next table talk about routes through the west Indies and shipping. I swear I've been in a place just like that before, somewhere in Cambridge. Cambridge, Mass, that is, a city old enough to have interesting ( Read more... )

I completely understand. Ever since Mr. Wench and I visited some years ago, we've wanted more than we can say to go back...and to have a little place there if we ever win a huge Lotto jackpot.

Mmmm...London.

Then again, we would have to leave Jake behind which would suck immensely.

When you get back, we'll have to schedule another sushi date so I can hear all the racy details of your trip.

Yes, yes! We must get together for lunch now that you have weekends free again. Sushi + a good long chat!

I'm so glad you liked Gordon's and agree with me about the whole Watcher vibe it's got. I spend far to much of my free time there and would've been sad if you'd said that you thought it was crap.

Check out Somerset House if you can. Just walk through the quad if you haven't got time for the galleries. You won't be dissapointed, it is a sensation of a building.

No way is that place crap. No way! Can't imagine what it was like when people could smoke inside, though. My delicate Californian lungs would have been screaming.

Dammit, I love this city.

Hurrah for Gordon's! After my first visit there I even wrote a Gilesian adventure-night out in that setting (but in the series I no longer claim, so...).

May the last two days be wonderful!

Hrm! Cannot remember if I read that one or not! Will have to seek out, because mmm, yes! adventures starting there, ending there, happening there. All possible, while the underground shakes the bottles on the tables.
