I've been racing through the chapters. This one is so powerful. The description of the magic being invoked through the pain, blood and words is brilliantly vivid. And even the lovely sex with Olivia earlier. There's a satisfying maturity of perspective operating in the story that absolutely gives Giles the necessary complexity of a man his age. Looking forward to the remainder ;-) Lots of hot to come.

Absolutely excellent. Far superior to the draft, and you know how I felt about the draft.

The Angel thing, as someone said earlier, was a stroke of genius.

I can't wait for part 2. ^_^

I´ll just read the first part, I said. I can´t spend that long in this internet café, I said. I´ll read a part a day for the next three days, I said.

Oh well. At least this is one of the cafés with barriers between the computers. I think this would scandalize the Ecuas terribly. ;-)

Anyway, I can see why that was so hard for you to write, but I think it really paid off. I usually get twitchy about sub/Dom stuff in fics, because it often strikes me as massively out of character, but this didn´t, somehow. Buffy and Giles were still very much themselves, and I liked the ways you used canon - the Cruciantum test and also the stuff with Angelus. And the writing was very strong as well. Looking forward to part two!

Excellent tale! Powerful imagery and the bonding was very compelling. You have a fabulous writing style - characters are strong and complicated but very canon.
May have to open a LJ just to stay informed! :)

I just finished reading this story and I am so impressed! Great plot and characterizations. Loved your Giles. I am also a lurker and have read many great stories and this is one of my favorites. Don't know how to Friend. Old lady new to computers, just read and applaud. I really was impressed with the back story of Angelus utilizing the ritual in his torture of Giles. Good twist. Can't wait for the next part. I printed this to reread when I want. I'll be 'watching" for your stories.
