Yay! It's even more gripping than I remembered. Fjoaan is such a sympathetic character - just an ordinary, albeit talented, guy trying to get by and then this is dangled in front of him...

Thanks! I rewrote it a bit, to instead of just adventure, that he's seeking freedom from being a social outcast. It makes it that much more of a temptation.

I like the worldbuilding here. We've seen the blowfish twice but this backstory gives them life. In fact, so far it has the potential to be a standalone novel.

An absolutely brilliant concept, and the writing is gorgeous. I'm really looking forward to watching this play out. I mean, could there *be* a more deliciously sinister Mephistopheles than John Hart?!
