[ he saw Yamamoto from his window when getting up to go to the washroom, and only out of curiosity went to see what he was up to. gokudera never could sleep very well after waking up, anyways. he listens to the boy talk to his bird, but can't help but give a small scoff when he speaks the last line. ]

Che. Nervous?

[ He turns towards the voice, blinking curiously. He'd hadn't really expected Gokudera to be awake this early, but he's not complaining. ]

Yo, Gokudera! [ He lifts his hand in greeting, offering another sheepish grin. ] Ah, you heard that?

[bombtoss]

I came in half way.

[asariugetsu]

[ He nods, but doesn't look bothered that he may have heard. ]

I was just thinking that this place - [ a gesture to their surroundings with one hand before he turns to fix Gokudera with a even look ] - it's not real, right?

[He hardly ever sleeps. If he does, it's more holes than sleep. So he's out, wandering the courtyard, examining scenery.] ... is that a bird?

[ He hears the other near by before he's actually spoken to. Turning towards him slightly, he's a bit surprised to have been addressed. Regardless, he answers cheerfully- ]

Yeah, he is! [ He reaches up, lightly brushing his fingertips across Kojirou's head. ] His name is Kojirou!

A friend of yours? [A tilt of his head -- Riku steps a little closer, careful not to scare the small avian.]

[ Kojirou doesn't move from his perch, even as Yamamoto shifts more towards the other. Then finally, he shifts as well, the tiny feet moving to anchor himself carefully so he's facing the other. ]

Something like that, yeah!

[ it still felt a little too strange to sleep in his bed. shouichi had been awake all night, wandering the halls in an attempt to make himself exhausted enough to not care. he was sitting out in the courtyard now, having almost dozed off before yamamoto and his companion walked in.

rubbing at his face a bit, he refrained from speaking just yet -- so as not to scare the bird away. ]

[ Irie had been quiet - perhaps that had been why Yamamoto hadn't noticed him. But after a few seconds, Kojirou peeped once, shifting in Irie's direction. ] Mm?

[ Blinking, he turns in the direction the swallow is facing before-- ]

Yo, Irie! [ He lifts one hand in greeting, straightening quickly and moving to approach. ] You're up early!

[ he gave a small wave before he got up onto his feet. ]

Something like that..

What brings you out here?

Ah, I'm always up pretty early.

[ He's used to getting up to train. It's kind of engrained these days, to get up- ]

And it's the closest thing I can get to being outside without doing anything dangerous, right?

[this kind of cold permeating the courtyard at the barest hours of morning was near unsettling. knowing that it was synthetic, a product of clever technology, did nothing kind for allelujah. the sky was hollow, harboring false depth, not full of stars or the gentle lift of anti-gravity beyond the morning cloud-cover, but limited instead by a roof. stark and stifling.

but he's here, nonetheless, prickling with the chilly breeze. breathing. that was something to be thankful for, allelujah is slowly finding out.

the pilot hadn't expected anyone else to be out at the early hour, so when a voice begins to drift through the courtyard, just too far off to hear properly, allelujah turns his bi-colored gaze to the direction of its source. preemptively, he says out of habit:]

-Excuse me.

-CATCHES HIM-

[ His head lifts quickly at the sound of the voice. It's a bit far off but he's sure he wouldn't recognize it, even if it were closer. ]

Ah? [ He shifts, moving to stand and glance curiously in the direction of the voice. Seeing someone there, his eyes shift towards Kojirou, to the left and then finally to the right, as if checking for others. He's relieved to find no others - it would have been rude to ignore them!

Taking a few leisure steps forward, he tilts his head- ] Good morning!

ACTION. LET'S SEE HOW THIS GOES.

[ -- Hmph. He wasn't exactly expecting to run into anyone this early, but... ]

You know! [ Might as well make the best of it; he's gliding towards Yamamoto with prowling steps, tone deceptively light. ] They say that babbling on and on to yourself is one of the first signs that you're getting a little weak in the head.

... of course! I'd make an exception and say that talking to a little winged rat is just as bad, wouldn't you?

action! .. oh pfff, this'll be hilarious!

[ His eyes clip towards the voice and he can feel Kojirou's weight shift on his shoulder abruptly - just as surprised by the sound. He hadn't heard him approaching. If he hadn't of said anything, he probably would have been right on him before either of them noticed and suddenly, he's glad the Kid wasn't here. He should have been more careful.

But he doesn't let the surprise show - not outside of a careful grin as he turns, facing the other while moving back to his full height. ]

It'd be pretty cool if you had a winged rat, though! [ If that was a jab towards him and his swallow, he didn't take it as one - brushed it off easily. ]
