I can see we've all got ourselves into rather a fuss. Since I do not have the time to keep coming to all of you individually to allay your fears...

That would be the small genetics project Janos was working on. He was curious what drove the evolution of local wildlife.

Given that the project went nowhere, the information is hardly beneficial. The drive is out of date. I am afraid you are all somewhat jumping to conclusions. Everyone has been given every opportunity to come work in the labs should they wish, we have made several announcements stating we are to run a training course. I hardly think we can be accused of being reticent to accept help.

This information needs to be in the open to begin with. For people who want our help, you keep a lot of secrets.

Before you go playing the innocent act, realize that you look extremely suspicious by hiding things.

'Innocent act'? My, someone has got themselves upset. The reason most of this is left on our archived drive is that it is out of date.

So why bother locking it? If it's useless information now.

Because as you as currently proving, we then have to waste a great deal of time answering questions about it.

[Listening, Doug watches the screen before switching on the video function on his own device.]

Thank you for taking the time to speak about this, Doctor. [He pauses for a moment.] How much of your past research is open to the public?

All the useful information and research is quite open if anyone cares to come by the labs. However, it seems people would prefer to sit in their rooms and make a fuss when an out of date drive accidentally makes its way onto the network.

Really? I'm sorry, then. I didn't think we had access to them unless we're part of the team working there.

But if it's possible, I'd like to learn more about the virus and its history.

The point of asking for help was to increase our working team. You are welcome to come by any time and one of us will let you in.

If the information is outdated and unimportant, then why bother keeping it? I am aware certain things must be retained for the sake of research and other purposes, but if this were true, then why not inform us from the very beginning?

You must forgive us if we jump to conclusions. After all, not all of us have had the luxury of trust. Especially in a place we are not so familiar with.

For the sake of archives? So that if one day there is none of our original team left to explain, anyone who arrives as a complete story?

I see. And the reason you kept us from knowing these were available was because...? I'm a bit at a loss, sir. If you needed aid, that usually would entail any and all information be shown when we agreed to this contract.

Nobody was kept from knowing anything, as far as I am aware. All relevant information about our research and results is in the library.

Is it possible to make an appointment? I fear that I can only ask questions in person.

If you would like to make an appointment to come by either my office or the labs I have no objections.

Perhaps a little soon given the number of questions I am having to sift through. Tomorrow should be quieter, I hope.
