[ Denzel stands on the porch of the house, peering inside at the dimly lit hallway. He doesn't know how long he's been here, but it's been a while, and he still hasn't decided if stepping in is a good idea or bad one.

He needs a little shove. /hinthint ]

[Sora is behind him a moment later, silently leaning over and peering in over his head and into the hallway. He seems to have the same expression Denzel has, albeit a bit more curiosity than hesitation.]

[ Denzel jumps when the other boy comes up behind him, but then quickly steps to the side of the doorway, thinking he's in Sora's way. ]

S- sorry.. Are you going in?

[ He glances in one more time, wondering if perhaps it wouldn't be so bad with someone else. ]

[Sora looks down at Denzel.]

Wait.... You mean you're not?

[He immediately becomes wary, thinking Denzel knows something he doesn't]

[He doesn't know what this Halloween involves but he sure is hell is not going to miss up the opportunity to see what all the fuss is about. It's been a strange month for the dai; learning to walk again in such a new world, but he's beginning to find his steps and even against doctors orders Malik has made the choice to approach the scenario and see what he can learn, gather information, do as he would do in the past, preform as he would preform his daily routine with a hitch here or there.

Hesitant to enter the courtyard though, the setup has him wrinkling his nose because surely this is only perpetuating the idea that this place truly is some sort of hell. Question beg to be answered as why in the name of god would you leave pumpkins all around the place, why would you leave false human remains upon the grounds and what on earth is making the light green? [When Sora arrives at the courtyard, he is considerably impressed. It's just as impressive as Halloweentown, albeit much much smaller and nothing here is technically real.

[He's waiting for some friends, but that doesn't mean he's opposed to exploring.]

[In fact, he's become pretty invested in trying to figure out whether or not a skeleton he just passed by rattled at him. Anyone wandering by will see him circling the skeleton and poking it for good measure.]

HEE IGNORE WHAT YOU JUST SAW...

Ah... [He's sitting there quiet, breathing hard, pants punctuated by coughs. He's waiting outside the house for Sora and possibly Naminé and Roxas, if he sees them. As it is, he sits quietly, a sour look on his face. He's developed pressure in his ears, and his left eardrum is throbbing violently in his head. It's bad enough that he's fallen several times while coming down here, but he's sitting against a tree now calmly, trying hard to ignore it and blinking toward the face of a perfectly-carved, complex-looking jack-o-lantern.] Wonder how they decide on the designs... [What direction was Sora supposed to come from again...?]

SAW WAT, BB? I SAW NOTTING.

[Sora finally finishes his investigation and turns just as the skeleton rotates its skull to face Sora. Now that Riku's here, he abandons it in favor of running up to meet Riku where he's currently seated in front of the house.]

You made it!

[His smile falters a little bit for the same reason it always does. But he tries to hide it, just because he knows Riku would hate that.]

[He blinks up at the boy, wiggling his toes in the light shoes he found somewhere.] Yeah. Uh... don't yell, okay? [He rubs at his ear, then leans his whole weight on the tree to stand. He catches that glance anyway, but he ignores it, knowing where it's coming from. He does hate that... he has to be worried about. But... he's grateful too. As long as Sora knows he'd do the same for him.]

[Something about the haunted house is more comforting to Kadaj than his other surroundings have been. Surrounding himself with the spookiness takes his mind off other things, and he entertains the idea of creating his own sort of havoc. For now he lurks in one of the many rooms, creepystaring out the window.]

[He's sitting against the tree, chitchatting with Sora, when he happens to look up and notice that Kadaj is staring at everything from up there. Does he have any social skills at all? What a guy...]

[Kadaj spots Riku and that creepy look just gets ten times more so with the broad grin on his face. He contemplates jumping out the window, but decides to bellow really loudly so everyone can hear him.]

BROTHER!!!

[With that, he temporarily leaves Riku's view to rush out and for Riku, and it doesn't look like he's about to stop running any time soon.]

[Even from here, that yell just... pierces his ear, and he winces, rubbing at it.] Ugh...

[oh god, why is he here? maybe it was something juvenile that was comforting. they had a lot of these in Australia - even though it was slowly getting hotter, he remember enjoying them when he was younger.

But those were the days when his mother was alive and before he bent over backwards for his father. A new man who had nothing better to do than to go into a haunted house.]
