Style Upheaval- I NEED YOUR HELP

Apr 09, 2010 23:53

Will pointed out to me that I start too many projects and don't follow any to completion. It's true, I can think of so many right now (building a book-bag, sewing an apron, making Hana bead jewellery)... and I've come to realise that it's the same with fashion.
That also explains why I have so many clothes, but never anything appropriate to wear;

Pictures of an outfit you need help with would be useful ;D

Have you looked into mori girl? With spring coming up, a lot of stores are releasing stuff that easily fits into the style and it's perfect for day-to-day wear and fairly easy to co-ordinate.

I say you shouldn't give up on any style you have an interest in! It's all about how it makes you feel, so if you feel you may some day pull it off then there is no sense in getting rid of it :3
(Take this with a grain of salt, I'm a total pack-rat when it comes to clothes!)

I actully own some morigirl stuff, and I think it's a great daily style. The problem I have with it is all the layering- I don't know how to wear it in hot weather!
I'll edit with pics in a sec :3

use shawls? or short jackets? I've seen a lot of lacy scarfs arround town too.

Thank you so much! I have definitely gravitated more toward a classic look in my lolita clothes. But I have no idea how to translate that into a casual, daily style! Faiykei/spank looks a little bit, to me, like a toned-down sweet lolita; it keeps the main colour scheme and aesthetic without all the decadence of loli. But I don't know how to do that with classic o_O Maybe I should make a post on egl (even though it's a little OT)?

I agree with you completely. You're one of those lucky people who can seemingly pull off every style (*admires*) but I think I have too much height and strong features for a childish fashion like spank. I think I'd feel better in a fashion where those things are strengths, not disadvantages. I just don't know what that is yet xD

Haha I have that problem too. And I don't even want to sell them off because I want to get around to trying that style eventually and because I'm a HOARDER. :c

But the first thought that came into mind is that you should wear elegant/classical kind of stuff. Like what Phoebe said. That would suit you so much *___*

It's a bad habit but I bet a lot of girls do it. I'm fed up of having no clothes that match!
Thank you! :) I did feel really comfortable and happy wearing it, unlike sweeter styles. But like I said to Phoebe, idk how to pull it off in a more casual way. The problem with classic lolita is that it inherently looks so formal :/

Yeah I wouldn't suggest wearing classic lolita everyday (it would be goddam expensive for one), but it would be possible to wear certain classic dresses in a mori way (with no petticoat) perhaps?

I have clothes that work with lolita or fairy kei, lolita or himegyaru etc. And its nice to have the selections of OTT fashions for special occasions (lolita/himegal), cute casual (fairy kei/casual himegal). There is nothing wrong with liking a million styles though, you will just get less mix+match outfits xD ( ... )

I like the look of the girl on the left, it's adult enough for me to pull off without looking like an old lady! :D
