Nevertheless, here Michiru is - and if you look closely enough she's wearing that knowing smile that says she is very aware of how inane the situation looks. Perhaps that's part of the fun, one might say.
"Does it matter so much, Haruka?"
A playful and pointless statement, of course. She begins to move to the sink without waiting for an answer.

Haruka knows just how much certain people - for example odango atama and her friends - would be gasping and 'how is this possible'-ing at this very scene. Even though it's only dish washing.
Oh pff, way to give her not an answer and yet give one at the same time, Michiru. Haruka grabs a dish towel. She lets out a mock sigh, although there's a grin on her face instead. "I just thought it would be polite to ask it first."
Because Haruka is a very, very, very polite person. Obviously.

Reaching the sink, Michiru gently pushes down the plug, then begins to fill it with water. Indeed, such a silly and domestic sort of chore, but it turns out dishes won't do themselves, even for superheroes. Besides... this is fun, too. Every moment with Haruka is fun - that's the point.
"Ah?" she smiles from beneath lowered lashes, her voice light as the air. "How chivalrous."

Somehow living with Michiru hadn't even been something to get used to, but rather something that felt so natural that it wasn't weird or even awkward at all. Like it had always meant to be this way. Dishes included.
Haruka puts the towel over her shoulder. There's nothing to do yet anyway. She leans just a slight bit forward towards Michiru. "You know me. I'm very chivalrous."
