1. Arrival
[Bazett Fraga McRemitz wakes up with a start. Her head is heavy and her body feels strange in a way that she can't put her finger on.]

What happened?

[A quick look around tells her that this isn't her Japanese hotel room. For one thing, it's too large and the furnishings are completely different. For ( Read more... )

[Well, this is a new face.]

I take it you've had a long day.

[He nods.]

If information is currency, I guess I owe you a drink now. What can I get ya?

Irish whiskey.

[She likes getting whiskeys abroad. They are cheaper than they would be in her homeland. Now that she trusts this man a little more, she decides that she can afford to accept a drink from him.]

[He nods, glad to have learned this drink.]

One Irish whiskey coming up. This liquor isn't as good here, but it gets it's job done after a while.

[After a moment, he passes her the finished drink.]

[She takes it and gives him a hint of what might be a smile.]

Thank you, Mr...

[They never did get each other's names.]

You can call me Greed.

And you would be?

Bazett Fraga McRemitz.

[His name was a little odd, but it might have been a codename. She decides not to ask too much about it.]

You seem to have been here longer than I. What can you tell me about this place? I know about the Smiths and the drones, but why am I missing my personal items?

[She doesn't talk about her powers yet. She does not want to reveal the existence of magecraft.]

They take everything but our looks and personalities from us, pretty much that is. Some who don't fit the average look have lost their bodies for human ones.

And just, if something strange happens one day, expect there to be at least on more day of it.

[She nods. This explains why she is unable to find Fragarach or activate her magic circuits. This place has turned her into a normal human. It is frustrating, to say the least. The rulers of the place seem to have been very thorough in trying to make the inhabitant conform to the town's image.]

I wonder why they allow us to keep our looks and personalities? Is this part of their game?

[She does not mind the part about the strange things. She has seen plenty of strange things before in her life.]

Not sure. I don't know if they've got some kind of magic to keep us from using our abilities, or if they have a way to separate them from us.

[It makes him think of the way his father could override alchemy, but he gets the feeling it something different here.]

I'm pretty sure it's part of their game. A way to make things a bit difficult for us.

The masters of this place are curious beings...

Is there any way to get your items back?

You could go ask the postman, but, he takes something in return. And it's not really your choice what he takes from what I hear.

[She nods.]

So the post office serves that type of function...

What other important buildings are there in this town?

The dairy and the mayor's office from what I've heard. The dairy is impossible to get into, but the milkman makes his deliveries every morning somehow.

Perhaps it is just another one of the town's attempts to appear as a "normal" town. It does seem odd that only the dairy, out of all the places in town, would be locked, though.

It is odd, makes me want to try and break in, but I hear it's useless, and I don't like to waste time on useless things.
