It was interesting seeing the first three scenes going backwards in time rather than forwards.
It was interesting the twist with the charm.
I'm assuming that the distance between Akira and HIkaru at the beginning was because Hikaru told Akira about Sai, it was good to see that issue got closure.
I loved how Akira described the game afterwoods, where Hikaru only finds it painful - possibly because the game is nothing, without the person.
thanks! glad you liked it. ^_^ glad the flow of it worked... and yeah, for hikaru, it wasn't enough like having sai with him, and too much of a reminder of losing sai...
akira was upset because hikaru had told him about sai, and... he didn't react well. he thought it meant that hikaru had been lying to him and playing him for a fool, or something of the ilk. =p ie, one of the bad fallouts of hikaru telling akira the truth. ^_~
I really enjoyed this. I liked what wasn't stated - I had no problems figuring out the cause of the coldness between Hikaru and Akira - and I loved the way it dealt with Touya Kouyo's problem, that of being matchless. (And it made me think of the one scene in the manga where he's up in the middle of the night over a board, waiting for Sai. *sniffle*)
sorry for the delayed response, only just saw this comment today! *blushes* sorrysorry!!!
butbut. thank you so much! so glad you enjoyed it, and glad that it all made sense. ^_~ i adore touya kouyo, and i feel for him, having lost his rival....
I hope you make more fics like these.

I really liked reading this. There were some parts I didn't understand, but I guess that's because I wasn't supposed to--that or I'm not as smart as I think I am. Whatever. I got the gist of it, and it was lovely. Much thanks for the good read. Keep writing!

I still don't get what it was that made Akira so mad at Hikaru though.
