Considering Hikaru's extensive history, and who was waking him up for many years, it's pretty understandable. (also, I'm one of those people, who tends to imagine go players calling each other by their surnames, even in bed, so I imagine a name change would be jarring.)

Anyway, I like this fic a lot. I was honestly hoping that Hikaru would finally realize he could trust Akira enough to reveal the truth. But there has to be trust between lovers and this shows that no matter what Hikaru doesn't trust Akira so Akira can't trust Hikaru.
