This is really good stuff. I didn't see any of the plot twists coming, and it's a really enjoyable read. It's interesting to see how all the characters fit in this AU, and it's also imaginable, which I feel is pretty important when we're talking about an AU.
I also can't help but appreciate how you also slip in details of Hikaru's daily life (aka romance) even while focusing on the mystery at hand. Because it's true, time and life don't stop even when work overwhelms you. It's wondefully long, and it's a great read.
You know me - I'm a sucker for a good AU. This was fantastic. I didn't figure out who the killer was until Shindou walked into the building, and then I was like, no freaking way. lol
I agree with adler - I liked that the romance wasn't the focus. I liked that they were supplementary details, and that it was woven into the story and part of Isumi's motivation.
Isumi's motivations didn't really work for me, but I liked the build up of Hikaru and Akira getting together, the investigation plots and the ending. (Touya is totally a stalker, good thing he uses his powers for good)
Ahhhh, you're killin' me. MypoorIsumi!!! VERY engrossing fic, right from the very start. You do a great job of building atmosphere and situation without much overt work, so that's excellent! Well cast poorIsumi!! with some good psychology going. He's a little dash of Dexter - and I have to say, I started to suspect once you said that Isumi was calm when Touya Kouyo just showed up. *sniffles* The relationship between Touya and Hikaru was nicely played, too. I love that Touya was actually trying to get some with Hikaru without Hikaru knowing, ahah. VERY well done!! My favorite line, though, belongs to Kaga --
"Okay, I don't. But I don't enjoy hurting people. It's not fun for me."

I didn't figure out who the killer was although in retrospect I should have.
Poor Waya. At least he didn't end up dead for having bad taste in men.
Definitely rereadable.
