Great little AU with the whole starfleet thing. I think my favorite line was Side note: No matter how old you suddenly feel, Harumi, you will not sleep with Ogata again! and now you have made me want fic for this couple. Bad author!

heh, there was a great Ogata/Ichikawa fic some rounds back when they had a one-night stand, and Ichikawa left without a trace of falling in love with Ogata, and it really irritated him, heh. that one really stuck with me, so that's how i see 'em interacting. ^_~

While the idea is sound, I couldn't quite warm to the particulars of the characterization here. They don't so much go counter to what I got from the canon as maybe just go a little perpendicular here and there, but it was enough to throw me. It definitely had its moments, though. I'm always up for a little bit of Ogata abuse!
