A lovely series of vignettes tied together with a poignant wistful, wishful thread. Nicely done.

I really like the chasing/catching/leaving-behind theme you're playing with here. The details with Akari's shoes and the recurring use of toes and feet are very nice, too.

I hesitated at the kissing, because I've got my OTP, and still I found the ending appropriately heart-wrenching. It's hard to see Akari leave something she thought she wanted for so long, even though, good for her because she deserves more.

I like this a lot. The details are wonderful: from the trees to Akari's shoes, to Hikaru trying to catch up to Akari. I like how you made it seem like they both surpass the other in their own ways, and neither can really catch up to the other. It's a very compelling and sweet story. I like how sad and wistful it is, but how there's hope for both characters too. Lovely.

Interesting that go is all that keeps them together at one point, and then it pulls them apart. I really liked the earlier parts, too.
