This was beautiful. There were so many little moments that I liked that I can't really pick just one. I was momentarily disconcerted to see fem!Hikaru, but that's what you get with lack of summary in blind_go, so nothing to be done about that. Seriously, thank you for sharing! =)
This line is really funny. I often think that making Hikaru a girl would show just how outspoken girls aren't supposed to be.
And their rushing into sex: it so often happens with these two in fic, with their hotheadedness and passion and them being 'destined for one another' and 'eternal rivals': they tend to skip the safe sex. Here the stakes are different though, which is why your title is so apt.
