I have only one word to describe this. Amazing! I love how you have it going back and forth and yet it is not confusing at all. Normally, when ppl do this, it gets a little messed up. Great job!
Here's my crappy two cents on time travel via telepathy. Real review to come later. :D Uncertainty principle... if the traveller focuses on another time-space, (location/time being dependent on one another) focuses to the point where he can imagine the other time-space, lose himself in the projection, then become totally uncertain about which time-space he occupies, he will experience a quantum collapse in his wave function and will be equally likely to stay in the current time-space as he is to teleport to another space in the same time, or to another time in the same space, or to another time and space totally. I can't take credit for that one, Rudy Rucker described it in his essay The Great Awakening.
Science score! I am totally going to re-write that part and throw that in, that sounds much better! I will make sure to credit you in the notes to the final chapter, where I credit everybody who I quote/get inspiration from. As you can tell, my understanding of physics is pretty rusty (though I have good reason for the telepathy, I promise) and I need all the help I can get!
Holy shit. That was so beautiful and achingy, painfully sad. My iTunes decided to cue up The Cure - Lovesong while I was reading the comm between Pike and Kirk. Not a good combination. My heart is in my throat. And Jim in Spock's room, finally piecing it all together - it's beyond words. Perfectly paced, powerful and thrilling all at the same time. Good description on the feeling Jim has when finding his soulmate, his best friend. 'the final riffs of the world's greatest song' Yes, totally yes. I've never seen someone describe the thrill of connecting with another person so well. :) And bringing in Spock's laundry, his smells - INSPIRED. I CANNOT wait for the next update. SERIOUS. :)
Aw, thank you for your kind words. I love The Cure...funnily enough, I think I was listening to Jo Division's second album while writing this chapter so I know what you mean about music setting the mood.
Real life is about to get kinda hectic, but I will hopefully have the last two parts up by the end of the week :)
