Title: Oh God, just one more time (Kamisama, mou ichido dake)
Circle: daken
Pairing: KagaKuro, AoKise
Rating: PG
Pages: 37
Notes: Okay, so I am a horrible person for sitting on this. But I kind of forgot about it sitting on my bookshelf, so it's been there since the beginning of the year (I mean, just look at the story). But however belated, here you are!

So...I saw the art and the samples at Tora, and I bought it but you know how sometimes things you think are "Well, alright" turn out to be "Huh, you know this is actually pretty darn good!"? That would be this book.

The story goes something like Kagami and Kuroko talking/thinking on December 31st (well...January 1st) in front of a shrine/temple for Aomine and Kise to show up so they can do hatsumode together (when you go to a temple/shrine - or both - and pray for good tidings in the new year). They exchange some inadvertently mushy words, and then Aomine and Kise show up. Apparently they used to have this tradition when the GenMira went to school in Teikou, and Kuroko recalls the wishes he and the others made the last time he went with them.

Somewhere in there Aomine tells a dirty joke about "New Years traditions" and Kagami, nonplussed, says something like, "What, you all dress up in women's clothes or something?", and Kise whispers to Kuroko, "Hey, you never know - might be kind of exciting." It ends with them finding out that all the rest of the GenMira have also come to the same shrine to pray, though they didn't contact each other or anything.

Oh, and I disagree with Aomine, btw - I think Kagami makes a lovely woman in the last pic. Though coupled with his very masculine voice, my mental image of him is somewhat disorienting.

The art...the art is really good. When I read it I was immediately reminded of what things I talked about, thought about, experienced in those last few minutes of 2012 when I went hatsumode-ing. The cold of the season, seeing my breath fog up in the air, waiting for the clock to strike - the warmth of all those awesome food stalls!, good food and good friends...this doujinshi really captures all of that. That Kuroko is a bit sad, but also over it and happy...it makes me curl up all fuzzy and warm inside. Pairings in this case could really be shrugged off as nothing, since they never kiss - it's all innuendo on Kise's part.

Get it here on MF, tell me if there's any problems dling!
