i think they love each other even if it is non sexual

and you could be romantic asexual, loves someone but had non desire at all for any kind of sex act or intimacy more than just a hug or be in personal space of the person you love and nothing more.

I think Sherlock could be in this capacity in your fic. And John is Sherlocked even if he accepted or not.

Sorry to make you cry! And thank you for your thoughtful reply. Yes, I definitely hoped this story would show a John and Sherlock who very much love each other, and that platonic (or borderline romantic) love is no less inspiring, true, and deep than sexual love.

I do think of Sherlock as asexual--possibly aromantic asexual, possibly not--which makes for a complex and interesting relationship dynamic. However, I don't mind sexual Sherlock stories, not one bit. :)

And yes, John is definitely Sherlocked. Who wouldn't be? (Besides Donovan, apparently.)
