Unfortunately whoever has written that EDM has made it more awkward to sign by bundling the housing benefit cap in; have made noise in the direction of my MP anyway.

(My MP says that as a cabinet minister, he can't sign EDMs*, but I shall signal boost.)
*In fact-checking this, I came across the wonderful rule that in an EDM, "no unparliamentary language or irony should be used." -- parliament.uk on EDMs
It would get very confusing very quickly if early day motions were allowed to use irony! "Wait - when you said that the Governments reforms were generous, did you actually mean generous or ungenerous?"
