Yes - lists and questions written down and read put a space between you and the medical personnel who make you nervous, and any little trick like that which allows you to stay that much calmer and in control is a Good Thing.
I'm a hypoglycemic. Two meals a day is a massively shitty idea - same amount of food spread evenly throughout the day is much, much better for your blood sugar (and protein is your friend--heavy carbs will leave you feeling tired all the damn time). And making sure you're drinking enough water (seriously drink lots, but no more than a gallon a day!) is smart... I feel rotten when I don't, and that's not even counting the way it annoys my asthma.
It's ok to be scared. Really. But you can do this. And as Annie said - if you need support via the phone, then call one of us.
I am a phone call and a drive away, schedule allowing. Listen to the wise ladies who posted before I did. You are brave. You are strong. And you will be all right.
My response to that is that my cousin had a cold and it didn't go away and he never went to a doctor...His cold became bronchitis which became pneumonia so bad he was hospitalized and he had to have surgery to drain the fluid pout of his lungs...Go to the doctor!

Write a list of your symptoms before you go. Since you will (probably) be nervous you may forget to tell him/her something.
Honestly, closing your eyes to the problem only makes the fear worse so go, go, go! *Kicks you out the door*

Paraphrasing what the others said: Get thee to a doctor.
