So, a few moments ago I was talking to the BFF about the show last night, as she didn't get to watch it. I told her I thought Anne Hathaway is fantastic (in general), and the more I thought about it, James Franco really pissed me off ( Read more... )

Who is James Franco?

(Whoever he may be, I hope this question shrivels his ego a little.)

I didn't see the broadcast -- no TV, no antenna or cable -- but we kept refreshing the web page that showed results as they were announced. You would not believe the cheer that went up when I announced the Best Actor result; I didn't know three people could make that much noise!

I've never seen James Franco in anything (as far as I know), and it sounds like not having cable was a good thing last night. (I have seen a photo of him in drag a-la Marilyn Monroe from last night. Terrifying.) No interest in him whatsoever.

She won an oscar for playing trailer trash.

Seriously, was it really such a stretch?

Oh, he is an ass. An entertaining and interesting ass at times, but... yeah, last night was most definitely not one of them. (I do have to say, however, that although he did look downright frightening in the drag getup, the ensuing joke about Charlie Sheen was one of the better zingers of the night. Which probably isn't saying much about the standard of writing, but you know ( ... )

Charlie Sheen was a good zinger. And the "congrats nerds" was funny if not bordering on rude, but i digress. He is an ass, yes.

I had a faux-argument about his hosting capabilities with a friend yesterday, and she said "He was hiiiiggghhhh!" Exactly! I do not personally partake, but I understand that many do which is fine, HOWEVER.

There is a TIME and a PLACE for such things and HOSTING the OSCARS is NOT one of them!!!

Idiot.

I still lament the loss of what could have been with Steve and Alec. I'd like them to try again only with better writing.

Actually, fire all Oscar show writers. Fucking put even ME in there, just somebody else, jesus.

Ha! I actually, I was going to say that you should write the show! It would be roughly a million times funnier than anything they could come up with. Are the Oscar writers people who got fired from writing terrible sitcoms? They're just awful. The should consider hiring actual comedian/writers.

Man, I don't know! I am going to look it up right now and see who these people are and what their creds are. I've been thinking I should starting trying to break into sitcom/show writing. Maybe now is a good time to start. ;)
