*big hug* for your family, grandma and you; I am so very sorry. What a moving eulogy.

I was thinking of you these last few days, seemingly from nowhere. How are you doing? How have you been? Are you on facebook? I love you and miss you! Now to catch up a bit if I can! :)

Yes, I am on Facebook. It has been difficult lately, because I lost my grandma and 2 of my 3 cats. I have not been doing great, health-wise, either, but I have been seeing a functional medicine doctor that’s trying to get to the bottom of things, and has found that I have a lot of different conditions contributing to my ill health, but there’s more work to be done to find what all is wrong and correct it. Among other things, I have a ton of vitamin deficiencies and have to take a lot more than most people in order to have enough, plus my adrenal glands are “flatlining,” and my thyroid glands are underproducing. (Last I checked, my meds cost $180 per month, but I take more of them now than I did then, I think it tops $200). I also currently have no income, since I got terminated and Unemployment denied me because, according to them, I’m too disabled to work, but according to Social Security, I’m not too disabled to work, and because of this, I also lost my health insurance (because I couldn’t afford $500/month for COBRA coverage ( ... )

Since I think I might piss a lot of people off with that one, I’m thinking of using a pen name (the middle name my mom originally chose for me (which her mother-in-law hated, so she changed), plus my mom’s maiden name, rather than my original pen name, “Anonoymah,” since the whole point is that I don’t want people I used to go to church with to think I’m going to Hell, even though the point is not to undermine anyone’s faith, but to democratize Jesus so atheists and people from other religions that can’t stand Christians will be able to appreciate him as a historical figure whose ideas endured and changed the course of world history (sort of as if he were a Socrates figure). I want to use as many sources as possible and to tell a compelling and emotionally moving story that is also humorous in places (I want people to laugh and cry and think really hard and expand their minds), while not offending anyone excessively (especially in the Jesus book!). In the case of the Jesus book, there will be times when a huge “OR” appears in the ( ... )

BTW…the whole reason I switched to Facebook from LJ is that I need to take the time I used to take writing entries and use it instead to work on books (while still having some updated about my life online, however truncated). I have always intended to cross-post to LJ, but haven’t…what with dial-up and a PC that doesn’t completely work….
